“You can take the girl out of the neighborhood, but

you can’t take the neighborhood out of the girl”

Cincinnati Enquirer theatre critic Jackie Demaline once said of Michelle, “You can take the girl out of the neighborhood, but you can’t take the neighborhood out of the girl”. Absolutely.

Born and raised in the middle of a large family, in the middle of an even larger neighborhood, Michelle has had the pleasure of telling stories that go far beyond the boundaries of her colorful working class neighborhood.

An early reader with a voice unusually low for a little girl, books became a constant and unwavering passion. Her love of a good story eventually led to a professional career in acting.

Formal training included the Children’s Theatre School in Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota (BFA Acting Program) and American Conservatory Theatre (MFA Acting Program). Since then she has performed everything from the classics to live interactive theatre, both locally and nationally.

Michelle has over thirty years of Voice Over experience. Her clients have included General Mills, Miracle Ear, Comcast, Health Partners, Medica, 3M, Medtronic, Target, US Bank, Raymond James, United Way, Tutterosso, St. Ives, Keranique, Science Museum of Minnesota and many more. She has had the privilege of narrating documentaries and original productions, performing in live industrials, and doing VOG work in both live and recorded settings.

Her long overdue foray into audio books includes upcoming releases of Mary Shelley’s The Last Man and Jeffrey Hatcher’s Three Viewings as well as his adaptation of Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw, through AudioViseral Productions. She has also entered into the world of detective novels, narrating Pat Dennis’s Murder By Chance series.

Michelle has presented over a dozen different live historical tours throughout the Twin Cities viewed by people from around the world as a professional Tour Guide through her business Celestial Tours.
